Thanks to these emulators, we are learning more about the Surface Duo. The latest information shows that while the handset will support the Surface Pen, it will have to be purchased separately. Considering the Duo will likely cost around $1,500, that’s a shame. Looking at the new Surface Duo emulator, there are some cool features that the Surface Pen will unlock. For example, there will be a dedicated option for the Surface Pen, which can be active in the Connected Devices settings. Users will be able to configure how the Pen functions on the smartphone, such as shortcuts for the button press. For example, the double click feature can be configured to launch applications like the Clock, Camera, Contacts, Calendar, Email, Gallery, Files, and Microsoft Edge.

Earlier today we reported on Microsoft’s Panos Panay posting a photo he took with the Surface Duo. It seems the Surface head showed what is the first public image taken with the smartphone. Since announcing the product in October, Microsoft has limited information regarding the finer details of the smartphone. Sure, we have had some morsels of information and the Duo SDK for Android is now in preview, but much remains unknown. Despite the image, there is still no information about the specific specs of the Duo’s camera module.
