Importantly, the release of Microsoft Launcher 5.0.2 is specifically for users running Android Pie (Version 9) of Google’s OS. The update is available from the Google Play Store for users around the world. As you may know, Android Pie is slowly making its way to more and more devices. As we see with various software releases (Windows 10 October 2018 Update, for example), a roll out can come with its fair share of bugs. This is also true of apps that run on new software, including Microsoft Launcher. Among the bugs Microsoft has addressed with version 5.0.2 is an issue with the screen going black. The release notes don’t go into detail on which Android Pie devices were affected, but the problem should be solved.
Launcher 5.0
Earlier this month, Microsoft launched version 5.0 of the Launcher. This latest full release came with plenty of interesting new integrations and features, among them Windows 10 Timeline. Timeline can be found on the revamped Feed page, sitting alongside the Glance and News tabs. Using the Timeline lets you see activity through past Windows 10 use, set out in cards for more efficient movement between apps. On Android, the launcher will now show you Timeline tabs to show Windows 10 activities on your handset.
