“This collaboration between Microsoft and Informatica provides customers an accelerated path for their digital transformation. As customers modernize their analytics systems, it enables them to truly begin integrating emerging technologies, such as AI and machine learning, into their business,” explained John Chirapurath, general manager, Azure Data & AI. “Without migrating analytics workloads to the cloud, it becomes difficult for customers to maximize the potential their data holds.” To get customers over the initial hurdle of migration, the pair are offering a free evaluation period. In it, customers can work with the companies to understand the data that’s connected to their current warehouse and replicate tables without actually moving any data. As a result, it’s essentially a 30-day proof of value period and will include a free code conversion. The free code conversion will continue if customers migrate fully to the cloud, with an SQL Data Warehouse subscription bundled in the trial period. As you’d expect, both and Informatica are offering support, which each focusing on different aspects. Both will offer a free hands-on migration workshop, while Microsoft will offer Azure Technical Specialist support and on-premises data warehouse code conversion. Customers that qualify will have a direct line to specialists, who will help with initial assessments, best practice, and other guidance. Interested parties can learn more about the offer by signing up the Azure and Informatica webinar or signing up for a free Azure workshop.
