As well as hands-on training, the new expansion gives access to systems integrators. In a blog post, senior director of HoloLens marketing Jeff Hansen explained: “We’ve learned that successful mixed reality solutions are built on great experiences — and those experiences require both a creative design component and a strong competency in application and infrastructure integration and deployment,” he said. “SIs around the world already know how to build, support, integrate and extend Microsoft technologies to meet their customers’ business and IT goals. As members of the Mixed Reality Partner Program, these SIs and digital/creative agencies will play a critical role in building 3D and mixed reality experiences for enterprise commercial customers.”

Readiness Course

After several weeks of technical and sales training and a proof of concepts, partners will be elligible for the program, gaining access to Microsoft engineers and marketing support. They’ll be able to participate in joint business planning with product managers, field sales, engineers, and other team members. However, teams already working on mixed reality products will be able to jump in straight away. The team will quickly advise them on customer engagement and help with whatever they require. Those already involved in the HoloLens Agency Readiness Partner Program will be upgraded automatically. Partners can apply immediately from any of the available countries, but you may want to wait a day. The Redmond giant is providing more information about the program via its breakout session at Microsoft Inspire this week.
